Amidst the expansive greenery of the Palmer Coolum Resort in Australia, Pegasus Factory has transformed artist Julian Vane’s ultimate pursuit of “spatial emotion” into reality.
The large-scale art pavilion, titled Under the Vault, represents a modern reimagining of classical architectural archetypes. Julian Vane moved away from heavy stone roofing in favor of a custom-forged iron and shading structural system developed by Pegasus. This modification not only grants the work a grand scale of 7.4 meters in height but also allows the intense Australian sunlight to be filtered into a graceful rhythm of light and shadow within the 7-meter diameter interior.
This project is more than a functional addition to the resort; it is a cross-boundary dialogue between top-tier marble and industrial metal orchestrated by Pegasus. As visitors step into the pavilion, the custom-engraved details beneath their feet interweave with the streaming light from above, instantly transforming the golf course into a serene, immersive artistic sanctuary.
